The project
Starting point
Vocational training in Barcelona was spread across different websites and documents, and each school explained it in its own way. To find a specific option, you first had to understand how courses, sectors and schools were organised.
The Consorci wanted students and their families to be able to reach a course from what they like, from a sector or from their neighbourhood, without knowing in advance how vocational training is structured.
What we did
We designed the interface and built a single catalogue with three entry points that share filters and results. You can explore by interest tags, search by sector and level or browse a map of schools with details for each one.
Results can be shown as a list or on a map, and each course or school can be opened without losing the search. The Consorci team updates courses, schools and campaigns from its own admin panel.
Technical decisions
Laravel handles the catalogue, the data and the admin panel, and Svelte handles the search tools and front-end interactions. That way filtering and result counts respond instantly, without reloading the page.
We ruled out a full SPA. Content is served from the server and Svelte is used only for the interactive parts, so the site loads quickly on mobile and Google can index all the content.
